The Mexican WonderSports Comments Off

The term ‘Mexican wonder’ is taken to mean different things, as used in different contexts. In the golfing context (nowadays), it is term used as a reference to one of the most notable women golfers of our time, one Lorena Ochoa. Indeed, in many sites where golf profiles are presented, the term ‘Mexican wonder’ is used quite interchangeably with Lorena’s name.
According to the considerable information available on her, Lorena was born in 1981 in Mexico. She started playing golf early: at the age of five, and went on to turn professional at 21 in the year 2002.
Surprisingly, the Mexican wonder is not particularly tall: standing as she does at about 5’6.’’ But she is one person who seems to have golf right in her blood. Since turning professional, Lorena has had more than 30 wins. 27 of these were in the LPGA tour, with the remaining 3 being on the Futures Tour. She also won the British Women’s Open tournament in 2008, and the Championship tournament known as Kraft Nabisco in 2008.
Seeing that Golf is one game that one can play till quite an advanced age, we can only ‘wait to see’ where the Mexican wonder goes over the years. But Lorena is definitely a force to recon with, even as at now.
